Have you ever wanted to record video footage from your iPad either to capture part of a certain app, some in-game footage, or perhaps even a video that you’re watching there? Unfortunately it isn’t as easy as you might think, and while newer iPads may be able to use iOS 11 to do so – many older ones cannot.
Rather than jailbreaking your iPad simply to record its screen, a far easier solution is to use Movavi Screen Capture Studio for Mac instead. All that you need to do is connect your iPad to your Mac using the standard lightning-to-USB cable, and you’ll be able to record its screen.
To get started the first thing you should do is launch Movavi Screen Capture Studio for Mac and click on the ‘Record screencast’ option in the main window. Then, check to make sure your iPad is connected to your Mac – as stated earlier.
Assuming your iPad and Mac have been successfully connected you should see a small mobile device icon with a green check mark on it in Movavi Screen Capture Studio for Mac’s interface.
Right beside it you can open up the list under ‘Capture Area’ and choose to record video from your iPad in either ‘Landscape’ or ‘Portrait’ orientation.
If you want to record the audio from your iPad as well, check that the ‘System Audio’ icon is ticked, or click on it once if not. At the same time you can also do the same for the ‘Microphone’ icon if you want Movavi Screen Capture Studio for Mac to record audio from it as well.
In any case when you’re ready to start the recording on Movavi Screen Capture Studio for Mac, click ‘REC’. If you want to play a game or start an app on your iPad you should do so at this stage as well, and can click ‘Pause’ at any time if you want to take a break or ‘Stop’ when you are done.
After you click ‘Stop’, Movavi Screen Capture Studio for Mac will open up a preview window where you can go over the footage and even trim out any bits you don’t need using the ‘scissors’ and ‘trash can’ icons. For more editing tools you can open it up in the built-in editor to improve the video quality, merge clips together, insert animated transitions, add captions, and much more.
Considering it is so easy to use Movavi Screen Capture Studio for Mac as an iPad screen recorder, why not give it a try? As you can see it is definitely preferable to jailbreaking your iPad, and there’s certainly a lot less risk involved as well.
