At this charity event, over 400 people stripped off and ran into the water at the National Trust-owned Rhossili beach on the Gower Peninsula in Wales. They hoped to raise over £12,000 for the National Trust and Marie Curie Cancer Care. The bathers gathered on the beach just after 7.30am. A rough sea delayed the start, but shortly before 9am the countdown began and, with lots of shrieking and cheering, the crowd ran into the chilly sea, which had a temperature of around 12°C
