Is this why News International sells copies of The Times and The Sun while other titles struggle? I snapped this picture at a Tesco outlet in London‘s Fulham Road at 7.30am this morning (Thursday).
They were the only papers available for sale on the shelf. I asked why and was told the others were late.
Had they arrived? Yes. Why were they not on sale then? Because they are late. Are they physically in the building? Yes. So why are you not putting them on the shelf? Because they are late. Go figure… Via Greenslade at The Guardian.
Editor’s note… As an ex circulation man my explanation for this could be that the circulation guys are being somewhat sharper than they should be. We used to bury the opposition papers on the shelves but this idea of making them disappear certainly ‘trumps’ that.
