NFC Bootcamp™ to deliver near field communication boot camp at Screenmedia expo in London

NFC Bootcamp announced today that its first international Bootcamp will take place in London at Screenmedia expo, Europe’s most dedicated event to digital screenmedia, marketing and technology.

The NFC Bootcamp will be presented on Wednesday, 16 May and Thursday, 17 May 17 2012 and will run from 9:00am to 5:00pm each day.

Presented by OTA Training and Merchant 360, the NFC Bootcamp is the first globally standardised Near Field Communication educational series. As the NFC ecosystem begins to mature and moves from payments to more marketing based applications, there is an increasing desire for business leaders to understand just how they can harness the power of NFC to drive brand awareness and increase revenue.

As a special feature of this inaugural European NFC Bootcamp event, the NFC Showcase™ will be located right on the Screenmedia expo trade show floor where attendees from both events can experience first-hand how NFC works from the world’s leading NFC companies. Sponsors of the Bootcamps include some of the best of breed NFC ecosystem companies like Device Fidelity, Identive, ACS, Cellotape, Blue Bite, Mobile Monday Seattle, Maxim, NFC Jobs and supporting organizations like The Daily DOOH, The Smart Sense, EMF and ScreenMedia daily.

Robert Sabella, CEO & Founder of OTA Training, which produces the NFC Bootcamp series, said, “Near Field Communication will change forever how consumers engage with digital media. There is no better place to come and understand the impact this technology is going to have on the industry then at Screenmedia expo.

We are very pleased to launch our European expansion in conjunction with this great event. It demonstrates the continual commitment that the Screenmedia expo has in bringing the most important and relevant technology developments to their attendees.”

Mark Pigou, show director, Screen Events Ltd, said of the NFC Bootcamp that he was very pleased that these two events could be co-located.

“Screenmedia expo is evolving in line with the continued convergence of digital place based media platforms so for 2012 we will be showcasing more connected devices and important emerging technologies such as NFC,” said Pigou. “Having this specialist NFC Bootcamp at the expo adds great value to visitors wanting to learn what this powerful technology is and how to use it to further brand reach and impact.”
