Poke London and their sexy new site for a denim giant
With tens of millions of pair of jeans sold in the past ten years, Mavi is one of the top 5 denim brands, globally. And today we’re launching their rather sexy new site.
Mavi is based in Turkey, but it’s a massive brand with real international impact, and growing fast, with 600 distribution points in its home country and new stores opening in cities around the world, including the US, Canada, Germany, Australia, Holland and Russia.
So when they approached us to redesign their website, we knew we needed to create something that would put them right in the thick of things with other major fashion players.
With 100,000 daily vistors to Mavi’s old site, it was clear that we needed to build a platform with major impact as well as global appeal. The answer was Tumblr. With rapid uptake by key fashion companies, it seemed like the most interesting, relevant building block to use as a starting point for a label that’s going places.
Tumblr allowed us to build a dynamic homepage and blog feed in one, easily updated by Mavi and easily followed by Tumblr users. Meanwhile, beautiful layouts in the static pages evoke the brand essence.
Don’t speak Turkish? No problem – for now, enjoy the photos and the rather lovely layout; next month, the English version will launch.
