All about Chime, 4mediarelations, SodaStream, World Travel Market, Experian QAS, Open Data User Group, CSM

4mediarelations have been selected as the official broadcast partner for World Travel Market (WTM).
The leading global event for the travel industry, the four day event will run from 5th to the 8th November at ExCel – London, and provides an opportunity for the travel industry to meet, network and conduct business all under one roof.

It is the first time in eight years that WTM have taken on a new broadcast agency and 4mediarelations won the account after a competitive pitch.

WTM Campaign Director, Darren Ryan from 4mediarelations says: “We are extremely pleased to be selected as the official broadcast supplier for WTM 2012.  This year, there’s a great opportunity to do things differently.  Working alongside the team at WTM our ultimate goal is to maximise the radio broadcast opportunities that exist for all exhibitors during the four day event.”

‘Data is the raw material of a new industrial revolution’

I wanted to get in touch with you on the Government’s first meeting of the Open Data User Group (ODUG), which was held yesterday at Tech City in Shoreditch. The meeting revealed the names of the group’s 13 members who will advise the Government on what public sector data will have the greatest economic impact and social benefits for the UK and should therefore be made ‘open’ and more transparent. Data experts have been pulled from a variety of sectors including business, civil society, academia, and local government – amongst these is Paul Malyon from Experian QAS and I’ve included some comment from him below:

“This is a significant move in the right direction and comes at a time when the public sector really needs better support to help them make the best of a bad situation. This is why bringing together Government and business in this way is so crucial. In fact, it’s been estimated that this initiative will be worth at least six billion pounds to the UK economy.

Experian QAS has been heavily involved in the open data debate for some time now – as Francis Maude has put it: ‘data is the raw material of a new industrial revolution’, and given Experian is a company built on data, we are perfectly placed to help the group capitalise on the open data revolution. I’m looking forward to working with this group of highly regarded professionals to add my insights to this truly ground breaking movement that will benefit the entire country.”

Complementary services across the sports marketing spectrum

CSM, the international sports marketing group, has announced plans for its global restructuring and rebranding.

The leading sports agency, which is a division of Chime, will now be known as “CSM Sport & Entertainment” (formerly Chime Sports Marketing). The Group will be headquartered in the UK and will align all existing businesses under the four pillar brand companies:  Essentially, Fast Track, Icon & Iluka.  This will ensure clear delivery of complementary services across the sports marketing spectrum.

Earlier this month, the first example of the newly structured group, CSM Brazil, was launched in Rio de Janeiro. The Group’s other international offices will also go through the same transition in due course.

SodaStream will carry out a nationwide tour of key shopping centres as part of its summer sampling activity.

Launched on Friday 6th July at London’s Westfield Shepherds Bush, the SodaStream Summer Taste Tour will take in six high profile locations across England and Wales with the aim of showcasing the quality range of flavours and demonstrating how the drinksmakers allow you to personalise flavours to perfectly suit varying tastes.

Shoppers are invited to visit the SodaStream Soda Bar where there will be demonstrations taking place throughout the day explaining how to get the best out of your drinksmaker, as well as an interactive photoboard linked to SodaStream’s Facebook page where consumers can capture an image of themselves with their favourite flavour creation.
