The Slug and Lettuce chain has agreed to sponsor the Sandown Park Music Nights, which will see the brand take the naming rights of the event and a series of performances that include world-renowned artists such as Jessie J, Razorlight and Will Young.
In total there will be four events commencing from the 9th August this year, with performances held at both Sandown Park and Epsom Downs Racecourses.
Speaking of the sponsorship deal, Sandown Park Racecourse’s Commercial Director, Simon Kershaw, said: “We are delighted to be entering into a partnership with such an exciting and expanding brand. The Slug and Lettuce bar chain is a great fit for Sandown Park: it’s fun, well-known and the clientele who eat at their outlets are similar to those who attend events at the racecourse. We hope this will be the first of many partnerships for our Sandown Park Music Nights.”
Nicola Stuart, Brand Manager for The Slug and Lettuce, added: “This is the first time we have sponsored a race meeting and feel it’s the perfect fit alongside Jessie J, attracting a young and dynamic crowd who enjoy a fun night out. In the build-up to the evening, we are holding race nights sponsored by Smirnoff at local Slug and Lettuce bars close to the racecourse, where punters can win tickets to see Jessie J live.”
Last year a similar two-day event was held at Sandown Park, which welcomed over 26,500 visitors to the course, but it is hoped with the big line-up that even more will be attracted to the venue this time around.
