Who else wants to know about the changing relationship between PR and SEO? / BOTTLE

Today BOTTLE announces it will be enhancing its PR and digital offerings with a full SEO service, which will include content optimisation, link-building, PPC, keyword research and web analytics.

The SEO services will be offered to all existing and new clients via an agreement with web consultants, Mark Stockley and Louisa Stockley, who will work as part of the BOTTLE team and also train existing staff members on the more technical aspects of SEO.The SEO service has been developed in response to the changing relationship between PR and SEO. Due to the ongoing digitisation and integration of content, PR is increasingly becoming a top influencer to inform SEO results. As it stands, 70 percent of internet users tend to ignore the sponsored ads and scroll down to the organic results – and 75 percent of users rarely scroll past the first page of results. With SEO dying as a standalone tactic, the opportunity to intertwine PR and SEO is fast becoming a win-win for search engines and organisations alike.

Paul Sutton, Head of Social Communications at BOTTLE comments: “BOTTLE is widely recognised within the PR industry for creating and implementing some of the best digital campaigns. Launching a formal SEO offering is a natural extension for BOTTLE as it enables us to completely integrate search with all of our client campaigns through intelligent keyword utilisation and link-building in social networks. With social and digital media continuing to become an ever-more important element of PR, we feel it’s the direction in which every agency has to move.”

The announcement comes on the back of new research from Search Metrics which highlights that the top factors to influence Google rankings come from shares on social media, followed by backlinks and keyword optimisation. “The way search is evolving means that PR consultancies are best-placed to offer SEO services,” says Sutton, “and with Google’s Knowledge Graph on the horizon we intend to take advantage of this trend.”

The partnership also involves ongoing SEO training for all of BOTTLE’s consultants to ensure they understand how to capitalise on content optimisation, keyword utilisation and back-linking best practice. “The skill set of today’s PR consultants is more complex than ever before and has to include an understanding of social media, trends in mobile technology and SEO. We’re firmly committed to improving that skill set for the benefit of both individual consultants and our clients”, explains BOTTLE CEO Claire Cairns.

“We’re currently looking in more detail at the services we offer with a view to redefining what being a PR consultancy and a PR consultant really means in 2012”, adds Cairns. “An SEO partnership has been on our radar for several months, and we now feel it is the right time to move into this area.”
