Selco, the builders warehouse with 31 branches across England and Wales, has adopted Vista Retail IT solutions and maintenance across its expanding portfolio. Selco is now able to benefit from a quicker response to its transactional IT issues, which in turn enables it to maximise its customer service.
Vista provides Selco with a range of flexible Service Level Agreement (SLA) response times, enabling the prioritisation of more important areas, such as the network infrastructure, chip and pin terminals and point of sale, over others like printers.
Selco’s unique builders warehouse environment is susceptible to dust from the products stocked and therefore all IT equipment has to be robust in order to withstand blockages. Selco Head of IT Mark Hunter says: “We needed a solution that includes highly responsive support as call outs are more frequent in the building wholesale industry than in traditionally cleaner retail outlets, such as clothes shops.”
“Additionally, with a 6.30am start, we operate over longer hours than traditional merchants and support has to be flexible in order to meet our requirements,” concludes Hunter.
Richard Olds, CEO, Vista Support, says: “Selco shows a good example of how flexible and robust IT support can enable an organisation to focus on growing their business. By adopting a solution with rapidly responsive maintenance support, businesses can operate more efficiently and ultimately provide a better service to their customers.”
