Tetley today announces the launch of a brand new Facebook application and microsite which will chronicle the nation’s tea drinking habits, Brew Map.
The new application goes live today and allows the 350,000 Tetley fans on Facebook and 70,000 followers on Twitter to log their tea-drinking consumption in real time, by using the Brew Map hashtag or logging on and registering their cuppa via the Facebook page. Brew Map will register the type of tea a fan is drinking (from original blends to green and fruit flavoured teas) and highlight the map accordingly, so an accurate picture is built up of tea drinking habits and preferences from around the UK.
In addition, each person who tweets or records their cup of tea also has the chance of winning a year’s supply of tea. Tetley, who recently won an award for the Top 100 social media brand, have worked with media planning agency Mediavest to create the application and microsite, which utilises the Google maps API.
Amy Holdsworth, UK Marketing Director Tetley, commented, “There’s no doubt that tea has long been the Brit’s favourite drink. Now Brewmap is a fun & interactive way to see where in Britain the most cuppas are being enjoyed and what the regional tea preference is. We don’t know whether it will be Green tea in Gloucester or Redbush in Reading, but we’re looking forward to finding out!
