Jon Davey writes : Twitter auto-tweets are a very powerful way to drive strangers to your website, while at the same time boost your SEO… so why do so many UK social media “experts” view it as the devils work?
It always amuses me when I get a UK social media expert respond to one of my auto tweets… the venom that some of these guys can spit! I know when I’ve hit an Aussie because he’ll come back… “Alright sport, fancy a Fosters!” or similar… they’re a friendly bunch.
American’s will also respond positively… a recent campaign I’ve run aimed at finding a Social Media Director role in New York City is gaining momentum… I published an article, inc. video, on 2 pages of my SMD site… they have had a total of 13 shares on LinkedIn and 50 tweets… most of those tweets have been via my auto-tweeter which is listening out and tweeting folk in New York City saying “@newyork Hey, have you got a social media job for this limey? www.socialmediadirectornyc.com ”
I’ve had some good feeback… and the added bonus of this social engagement… google loves it… quick analysis of logical key word searches… social media directors nyc is flying high in top spot and 11th for director… extend the acronym to New York City and we’re 2nd, 12th respectively… that’s the story in the UK… not sure about state side, I’ll ask the next guys who respond to check that out for me.
Another great example… if people mention the Queen & the Jubilee then they get a tweet from my @ilovewindsor account… “@twitterdude if you are interested in the Queen’s Jubilee year then you’ll enjoy this http://www.ilovewindsor.co.uk/news39.html share it, thank you…” And they do, many making it their favourite tweet… at the time of writing, the video has had 1737 views!
