Xpert London has had good reason to celebrate this week. With nominations for awards coming in thick and fast it’s certainly been a week to remember for the London based integrated agency.
Firstly, came their nomination in the ‘Shopper Connection Category’ of The Field Marketing and Brand Experience Awards 2012 for Xpert’s ‘shoppertainment’ strategy for Hello Kitty’s only high-end fashion brand, Pynkiss. The Milan based label asked Xpert to find a strategy that would launch their shops and online presence globally as Pynkiss boutiques opened around the world.
FM&BE themselves state that getting shortlisted in these prestigious awards is extremely difficult and that some very strong campaigns and highly skilled agencies have failed to make the cut. So naturally, Xpert began to celebrate. Within days however, there was further news of another two nominations.
Xpert has also been recognised for its HR achievements. Nominated for Best Graduate Recruitment Strategy and Best Recruitment Advertising Campaign categories in the In-House Recruitment awards primarily for Xpert’s novel approach to recruitment using the agency superhero theme. The accompanying visual job ads were something that would not look out of place in a Marvel comic and fitted perfectly with the superhero comic book style of the Xpert branding.
Convinced that the usual approach will bring the usual mediocre candidates, Xpert avoided the clichéd CV and covering letter and went straight for the creative jugular. No CV’s were requested but applicants instead were asked to show Xpert, as creatively as possible, why they should work for them. This approach resulted in everything from short films to cartoon strips being sent to Xpert for consideration. Shortlisted applicants were then challenged to display their creative superhero skills in mock communication and branding pitches via a mock brief for an entirely new High Street brand.
Greg Wixted, Director at Xpert said, “it’s certainly been a week to remember. Being nominated for three awards in as many days is nothing short of astounding. It just goes to show how creative and skilled the Xpert team is and I’m very proud of them all.”
