Here’s an interesting flashback to those heady days at Blackheath, Johannesburg when Nando’s opened their first operation. They settled on a comedy theme for their advertising because of great start up advice given by John Hunt, creative director of the then local Jhb agency Hunt Lascaris.
He was asked a question by the guy who started it all – Robert Brolin .. How do we, Nando’s compete with Kentucky Fried Chicken with virtually no advertising budget. He came up with this answer .. Keep it simple using comedy. The rest as they say is now – history.
