Ginger Beer has become a mainstay for pubs and bars across the UK as a soft drink, mixer and as an ingredient for adventurous cocktails

Afro-Caribbean food brand Tropical Sun is introducing a new bottled Ginger Beer to its drinks portfolio

The new drink is being launched to capitalise on the popularity of Caribbean and ginger-inspired flavours as well as the growing demand from consumers for adventurous new tastes.

Made to a traditional Caribbean recipe, Tropical Sun’s Ginger Beer is being rolled out in a 330ml glass bottle format. The glass SKU aims to set the brand’s offering apart from canned competitors.

Retailers can also merchandise it in the alcohol section, but as a non-alcoholic drink option which could sit next to most bottled lagers.

The resurgent popularity of ginger-flavoured drinks is being attributed to a number of different factors which includes a core loyalist consumer group, and a trend driven by the continued gloom of the recession – nostalgia for tastes and flavours from the past.

Ginger Beer has also become a mainstay for pubs and bars across the UK as a soft drink, mixer and as an ingredient for adventurous cocktails, which consumers are recreating when entertaining or indulging at home.
