Capablue, specialist in connected TV solutions, has appointed product strategy and delivery expert James Mears to lead its product development team. In his new role as Product Director, Mears will focus on defining and developing Capablue’s products, managing its product portfolios and implementing product strategy.
Mears brings to the role over 10 years specialist experience which he gained working across the mobile and broadcast industries. His career started with major network operators 3 and T-mobile where he focused on product development and delivery in mobile applications and content. He was responsible for creating compelling products that work on multiple platforms across many screen sizes before moving into the VoD space as Product Manager at online video platform provider Saffron Digital.
“It is great to have James on-board,” said Capablue CEO Tom Cape. “We have recently begun investing a lot of time into defining our main product messaging and James’s expertise will be crucial in taking this process to the next level. At Capablue we develop solutions across the whole connected ecosystem so it’s really important that we are able to define exactly what we can bring to our customers and the industry as a whole. We’re really pleased to have James at the core of the team working on our existing and future product developments.”
Mears said, “I’m excited to have joined such a forward thinking company at a time when the broadcast industry is revolving around connected TV. Capablue creates some truly unique solutions and I look forward to developing a full product roadmap to help push it even further to the front of the industry.”
Mears joins Capablue’s senior management team just weeks after it announced a Series A round of funding and the appointment of Charlie Makin as Director and Chris Alner as Commercial Director.
