Rightster attracts former Google TV Director for key management position

Today Rightster, the video distribution and monetization specialist, announces the appointment of Donagh O’Malley as Global VP Platforms and General Manager US.  In his role, Donagh will play a fundamental role in further developing and implementing Rightster’s strategy and value propositions to both the local US market and global platform players.

Based in New York, Donagh brings 15 years of leadership in the digital media industry to Rightster, spanning music, television and online markets.  Most recently he ran YouTube’s premium content business in the UK, followed by spearheading Google TV’s content business and strategy globally. He will report directly into Charlie Muirhead, Rightster Founder and CEO.

Charlie Muirhead, Founder and CEO at Rightster, comments: “We’re thrilled to have Donagh join our team and are confident that he will be a huge asset in driving forward our US business.  He brings some fantastic experience to the company and his big brand background at a global level will benefit our global team as we take Rightster to the next level.”

Donagh O’Malley, Global VP Platforms and General Manager US, comments: “Rightster brings a compelling offering to the market and works with some great publishers across numerous vertical markets.  I’m really looking forward to capitalize on its momentum and help to redefine how content finds its audience.  Fragmentation in online consumption is accelerating and I see Rightster as a key player in helping to assist with reach and engagement across the value chain.”

Rightster works with several high profile content producers across fashion, sport, news and media including SNTV, The Guardian, ITN, IMG Fashion and British Fashion Council.  Over 3,000 syndication publishing partners are currently connected to the Rightster network and the company is managing 100 million views per month on YouTube. Rightster currently has over 140 employees across offices in London, New York, and Delhi.
