Mark Lennox- Co-founder of award-winning job advertising & community sites, OnlyMarketingJobs.com & UKMarketingNetwork.co.uk asks…
Why do we make it so difficult for jobseekers to apply for jobs?
I have a real problem with online candidate management tools that make job applicants jump through hoops to apply. You know the ones where you click ‘apply’ and are redirected to the employers site to complete 6+ pages of questions.
In my humble opinion why not have a couple of critical yes/no questions, followed by the ability to send over your CV along with a non-compulsory cover note. Then, if the candidate meets the criteria, let them know they are of interest and invite them to complete your process.
Or maybe I’m wrong and a thorough application process is what you’d prefer? Either way I’d be grateful of your thoughts on this subject and will promptly use my findings to create an article.
Mark,
P.S. Do also take the yes/no poll I’ve created. http://linkd.in/RW6vkv
