HMRC has launched an investigation into the tax affairs of Gordon Ramsay Holdings

More problems for Gordon Ramsay?

Last week, it was reported that the High Court had dismissed a bid to have Gordon Ramsay Holdings wound up over a £600,000 debt.

The application was brought by his father-in-law Chris Hutcheson, whose own dismissal as chief executive was settled by a reported £2million pay out earlier in the year, of which the £600,000 was said to remain outstanding.

Now, it has emerged that HMRC has launched an investigation into the tax affairs of Gordon Ramsay Holdings as a result of an issue that arose under ‘previous management’

It is understood that the £100 million restaurant business is actively working with HMRC to resolve the investigation and any issues.

Gordon Ramsay must be hoping that 2013 will finally conclude the problems and publicity of the last two years so that he can focus fully on the business. They say that all publicity is good publicity, but you can also have ‘too much of a good thing’…
