Heron Foods is delighted to announce the appointment of Mike Igoe to the role of Commercial Director.
Igoe joined the Board on 1st January this year, building on his 30-plus years of retail experience to oversee the development of store formats, branding, merchandising and marketing throughout the company’s 240 store estate.
Igoe has been appointed to the role from his own retail consultancy, Retail Input Ltd, which has been working closely with Heron Foods on store projects for the last six months.
Prior to this, he spent seven years as Retail Director at PayPoint, during which time the network more than tripled in size.
He also held various senior management roles across more than two decades with The William Jacksons Food group in the Jacksons Stores division and subsequently following Sainsbury’s acquisition of the 114 Jacksons Stores in 2004.
On his appointment, Andrew Heuck at Heron Foods said: “Mike Igoe brings with him a wealth of experience in the retail sector, and we are delighted to have him on board to help us further develop our store estate.”
Igoe said: “I am very much looking forward to working with Heron Foods at this exciting time for their business.
“Heron Foods is a unique, family-owned business with over 35 years’ experience of operating in food retailing.
“Following the purchase of the Cooltrader Stores from Iceland last year, we have exciting plans for 2013 in bringing the new 54 stores in line with the rest of the Heron Foods fascia.”
