3 Monkeys Communications today announces the appointment of Hugh Burrows as Head of Digital.
The new appointment underlines 3 Monkeys continued commitment to its digital offering and focus for the division in 2013. Joining the 3 Monkeys’ Operations Board and leading an experienced digital team through day-to-day operations, Burrows’ main responsibility will be to further cement and expand the agency’s digital build, branded content and strategic capabilities.
Burrows and his team work alongside client teams to strategically lead digital executions across all the agency’s clients, including brands such as Microsoft, Three, Novartis and Kerry Foods.
Burrows brings to the role 12 years’ experience in strategic planning across online, social and mobile. Most recently, he was the Head of Digital at Unity, managing digital elements of major campaigns including the hugely successful Shwopping for Marks & Spencer, the 2012 NMA Award-winning R UV UGLY? for Cancer Research UK, Apple-y Ever After for Ben & Jerry’s and Think Work Play for Pernod-Ricard.
He also worked at Que Pasa Communications, a digital agency focusing primarily on the creation of branded content and applications across web, social, mobile and broadcast channels. Burrows has devised digital marketing strategies for a range of top brands including Red Bull, Tetley, Nike and Sony Ericsson and was heavily involved in content portal projects for the BBC, Channel 4 and Virgin Mobile / Virgin Media.
Hugh Burrows, said: “I’m joining 3 Monkeys at a key point in the agency’s evolution. Our strategy for further developing the digital offering here is going to make a huge difference to the business, our clients and most importantly, our campaigns. If PR literally means relating to the public, then in a multi-platform, personalised and always-on world, we need to engage consumers anytime, anywhere, and in a manner that they not only choose, but love and evangelise. Our digital offering is crucial in driving this ‘connected storytelling’ and I’m looking forward to growing our capabilities in digital and social strategy, creativity and delivery.”
Managing Director, Christine Jewell, said: “It is rare to find someone who understands the technical nature of digital work and is also an excellent communications strategist and planner.
3 Monkeys has devised and delivered some stand out integrated campaigns in recent years and we’re excited to take this capability to the next level under Hugh’s leadership, helping clients exploit their creative potential using integrated digital communications.”
