Results International has appointed Julie Langley as managing director of its advertising technology and digital media practice.
Julie has over 15 years experience advising technology and digital media companies on M&A, financing and disposals. She has completed transactions with many of the key buyers across the technology and media spectrum including Oracle, Microsoft, Experian, Moody’s, IAC, BT, Axel Springer, CNET and DMGT.
Julie started her corporate finance career at Broadview, a leading advisor on technology transactions, where she specialised in the software and digital media sectors.
In 2003 she joined Jefferies International where she was a managing director and ran the European software practice. Transactions she advised on in that role include:
• 3i’s acquisition of Seloger.com, the leading French property website
• Experian’s acquisition of Footfall, in retail data and analytics
• Microsoft’s acquisition of ScreenTonic, in mobile ad serving technology
• Oracle’s acquisition of Sunopsis, in data integration software
Outlining the firm’s rationale for appointing a dedicated lead for its work in the technology and digital media space, Keith Hunt, Results International managing partner says: “The shift in advertising and marketing dollars from offline to online has led to a convergence between the marketing communications, digital media and technology sectors, and a dramatic upturn in M&A activity between the sectors.
“As a result in recent years we have found ourselves advising on more and more transactions that straddle these three sectors –- and they are a significant part of our business. It therefore makes perfect sense for us to bring in a seasoned technology practitioner who will build our AdTech and Digital Media team and grow our profile among key audiences.”
He concludes: “Julie’s experience across the technology and digital media spectrum, combined with Result International’s long track record advising some of the most innovative players in the marketing and communications sector gives us a unique perspective on the sector for our technology, marketing and communications clients.
