The ‘testimonial’ ads, featuring real Vistaprint customers from the UK, was produced by Boston-based Element (who also produced a similar campaign for Vistaprint´s North American business). To add to the authenticity of the campaign, the ads were directed by award-winning documentary maker Marc Collucci. Marc mentioned their creative direction was moulded by customer feedback.
The campaign forms part of a wider strategy to put the customer at the heart of the business and the ads feature three of the brand’s regular customers, all of whom represent Vistaprint’s core ‘micro business’ sector.
The ‘stars’ of the ads are Emma Gooding, the owner of 4 Paws dog grooming salon in Braintree, Essex ; Susan Jane May, who has a floristry business, Country GardensFloristry, based in Sudbury, Suffolk and Pete Wilkinson, who owns the Yes! School of Motoring in Bournemouth. They were selected to highlight the widerange of Vistaprint designs, products and services. The spots feature interviews with the owners and highlight the products they use to promote their businesses.
Vistaprint VP Creative, Brand & Marketing Europe, Paul Lewis, comments: “Our customers are our best advocates so it felt right that we should make them the heroes of our campaign. It’s about using real people and real businesses to inspire others to use Vistaprint and see the results.”
The media was bought by Mediacom and can be seen on Sunday 24th February on Channel 4 at 4.30pm during Time Team featuring Pete Wilkinson, owner of the YES! Driving School in Dorset.
