Your essential guide to NABS Big Bash:
- The first NABS Big Bash took place in 2007 and replaced the NABS Celebrity Boxing Night which had been the charity’s showpiece fund-raiser since 1972 and which raised more than £9 million for the industry
- NABS Big Bash can trace its origins back to the 1913 Festival Banquet, the year NABS was founded by Lord Northcliffe. Those attending on the night raised £11,000 – the equivalent of more than £11.5 million in today’s money – to put the fledgling charity on its feet.
- The last six NABS Big Bash events have raised a total of around £9 million (based on £1.5 million per event) and have been attended by 5,400 people seated across 540 tables
· Each NABS Big Bash raises a large proportion of the £2.1 million a year needed to sustain its services
- NABS Big Bash is the industry’s biggest event bar none. It’s not about clients – few attend – nor about the industry’s big cheeses; it’s about celebrating everyone
- NABS Big Bash is THE only event that is about celebrating the people who support NABS by giving something back, be it time, money or expertise
- Celebrity performers over the last six years have included Pixie Lott, Madness, The Saturdays, Bryan Ferry and the Sugababes
- Big Bash auctions have given away an impressive range of prizes including cars and holidays
- Over the years, Big Bash entertainment has included a gospel choir, a champagne burlesque girl, a bird cage walker, stilt walkers, fire spinners and fire eaters, tight rope walkers and more ….
- In this, its Centenary year NABS has so far sold 100 tables to 100 businesses in the advertising and media industry
