• The Wolf of Wall Street will be released on 15 November in the US and 17 January 2014 in the UK
TWOWS marks the fifth time that Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese have worked together, following Gangs of New York, The Aviator, The Departed and Shutter Island.
And with the US release coming in November – just when awards season is creaking into action – could it be five times a charm for Leo to pick up some serious plaudits?
The 38-year-old plays financial hotshot Jordan Belfort, jailed for a ‘pump and dump’ stock fraud scheme. But in case you thought that this all sounds a bit credit crunching rather than head crunching, the New York stockbroker sure fitted a lot of big living in beforehand.
“Everything about this film plays to Martin Scorsese’s genius and visionary storytelling, said producer Riza Aziz.
“At its heart, ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ is about the rise of new ‘modern’ gangsters in New York. Wall Street gangsters that redefined excess, greed and arrogance.”
