Campus Party – Europe’s biggest festival of technology – takes place at The O2 until Friday, with events going on around the clock. An event dubbed by its organisers as “Glastonbury for Geeks” kicked off in London. Around 5,000 people a day are expected to visit Campus Party, with accommodation provided in the form of a mass of tents which have been lined up in their thousands inside the O2 to create an urban campsite.
Visitors are even encouraged to bring a sleeping bag and pitch up in a tent provided by sponsors Telefonica UK, so they won’t miss a minute of the packed schedule filled with big name speakers and innovative digital events.

1) The original Campus Party was founded back in 1997 in Malaga, Spain, by four friends with a passion for technology. It drew 250 people. Now headquartered in Madrid, the organisation behind it, the E3 Futura Association, has offices in Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, Germany and the United States. The annual Campus Party now aims to inspire the passion in thousands of people to create an educational-based festival focusing on new technologies and the power of the Internet as a force for good.
