In this video by Poke, designed to demonstrate the speed of EE’s 4G service, Bacon competes against Jamie Oliver to make the best bacon sandwich. It’s a clever use of YouTube to get the brand’s message across.
This hilarious new advert may be for faster 4G streaming, but it will get your mouth watering.Star of EE’s adverts Kevin Bacon teams up with celebrity chef Jamie Oliver to see who can make the ultimate bacon butty.
The video – advertising EE’s fast video streaming – sees the stars stand side by side in Jamie’s kitchen to fight it out over bacon, bread and condiments.
Initially Jamie takes the lead, slicing bread and grilling bacon while Kevin does nothing. But then Jamie stops mid-word, as he buffers – with the infamous white YouTube pause circle covering his face. While Jamie is stuck, Kevin produces a mammoth bacon sandwich – with steak, egg, salad and even lobster.
Kevin puts the finishing touches to his sandwich, and says to Jamie: “Bacon don’t buffer.”
