What’s Your Story is a contest with a twist.

We’re asking individuals, groups of friends, classmates or even entire schools to enter with a unique two minute video focusing on a specific theme of internet safety for kids and families.

It could be about cyber-bullying, how to stay safe on social networks, online privacy, piracy or even how to maintain your e-smarts on the mobile internet.

It’s about telling a story; anything to show the positive side of the internet – maybe how to stay safe online, or possibly even highlighting a particularly worthy cause.

Trend Micro is encouraging entrants to be as creative as they can. Mix it up with live action, stop action, animation, music – whatever it takes to create a compelling video no longer than 120 seconds.

The competition is back after a hugely successful debut in 2012 when William and Lennox from St Vincent’s school won the grand prize with their Websafe Rap.

Trend Micro’s hoping for an even bigger response this year and that entrants can be inspired by 2012’s roll call of budding online stars.

Winners of the school category will receive £2000 for their school, with runners up getting a cheque for £1000. Individual winners, who are split into two categories (8-12 or 13-18 years old) will receive £500 and a tablet device. One runner-up in each category will get a cheque for £250.

The What’s Your Story web site is live now and will be open for competition entries from October 1st until November 10th. Judging begins on November 25th and a winner will be announced on December 2nd.
