People in London can get a free meal in a city centre pop-up restaurant … by tweeting for a table.@Tweet4aTable
Booked with JCDecauxLive, the outdoor restaurant will be at Observation Point on Thursday and Friday (3 and 4 October) offering sit-down meals from The Co-operative Food to lucky diners.
All people need to do is follow and tweet @Tweet4aTable and tell The Co-operative Food, in 140 characters or less, why they deserve a table at the city’s most exclusive pop-up dining experience.

Lunchtime diners can enjoy delicious slices of pizza from The Co-operative’s premium Truly Irresisitble range, washed down by a glass of The Co-operative Prosecco, while in the evenings the meals on offer include fully-loaded juicy burgers, a delicious king prawn bucatini or a roast mushroom tin pie and mash, all with a glass of Fairtrade wine.
Tweet4aTable will serve lunches and evening meals to up to 200 people each day at Observation Point. The food is free, and any tips will go to Carers Trust, The Co-operative’s charity of the year.
Passers-by unable to stop for a sit-down meal won’t miss out. The Co-operative will be handing out free samples of own-brand food and drink throughout both days, including syrup porridge at breakfast time, massaman beef curry at lunch and chicken tikka masala in the evenings.
Kate Jones, Head of Product Development at The Co-operative Food, said: “We’re taking our outdoor dining experience right into the centre of London, as part of a tour of eight of the UK’s major cities. All people have to do is send us tweet, and the best tweets will get a table for lunch or dinner.
“Eating good food outdoors is one of life’s great pleasures, but if the capital’s weather isn’t quite up to scratch our pop-up restaurant will be equipped to keep people dry. We’re sure it’ll be a popular and exciting temporary addition to the city centre.”
