14th January 2014, London – Currently in its initial launch phase, Silversurfers.com is officially unveiled in response to the growing numbers of over 50s online and the incredible online spending power of this emerging online market.
Statistics show that the over 50s are a dynamic community with more than 15 million people online, increasing by 700,000 per annum, with an online spend growing by 12% a year.
Silversurfers.com is designed offer the over 50s an online portal where they can interact with friends with common interests and enjoy tailored and useful information on a range of topics from health and wellbeing, travel and finance to cars, technology and gardening. Behind the management of Silversurfers.com are Martin and Sally Lock. Martin worked for British Airways for over 18 years, managed the commercial arm of ba.com and co-founded international digital agency Web Liquid, whilst Sally has extensive experience in social media and manages the content across the site and its social networks.
