Saximo has been awarded exclusive rights by Transport for London (TfL)

Outdoor advertising and experiential agency Saximo has been awarded exclusive rights by Transport for London (TfL) to brand London Overground trains and Ticket Barriers. Saximo’s Rail Network business will provide advertisers with high impact advertising opportunities at 84 stations which attract a footfall of 180 million passengers a year.

Through Saximo’s Rail Network business, advertisers will be able to reach a large audience, 70% of which is ABC1.  It will offer advertisers the potential to have fully vinyl-wrapped trains for their ad campaigns, with 65 trains running across the four London Overground routes.  The expertly fitted train wraps offer a high impact canvas for showcasing brand messaging, products or images, opening up a new channel for advertisers to reach consumers on key commuter routes.

The 218 Ticket Barriers being managed by Saximo across the Overground network provide advertisers with an unmissable opportunity to be viewed by passengers who have to walk through them to enter or leave the station.  This makes them ideal for proximity campaigns while providing strong brand reinforcement and a high recall rate.  Campaigns run via the Ticket Barriers are completely accountable and there is also the opportunity to run multiple creative treatments.  Mobile network business Now Mobile has signed up as the first Ticket Barrier advertiser with a campaign launching this week.

As a result of the TfL contract win, Saximo has now restructured to provide clarity to advertisers around its five core media services.  As well as Saximo Rail Network, there is Saximo Digital (Digital Out Of Home media network with live screens at the X Factor, Britain’s Got Talent, music festivals and at motorway service stations), Saximo Roadside (exclusive advertising rights on a nationwide network of solar-powered Smart Bins deployed across major cities), Saximo Taxi (vinyl ad wraps across a fleet of 500 cabs in central London, as well as tip seat and receipt advertising) and Saximo Live (major live experiential events for advertisers, such as last year’s Summer of Sport Festival for City Index in the heart of the City of London).

Mark Hockney, Managing Director at Saximo, comments: “At Saximo we are about creating ideas rather than selling posters which is why we now have a unique and powerful inventory across five distinct but complementary areas.  We’ve grown quickly and have a strong team of media professionals who know the business but also think outside the box.  That’s why we can create joined-up media opportunities that give advertisers the chance not to just reach their target audience, but to engage with them to build long-lasting impact.”

Saximo is now an AVC Media Ltd company, which is part of the AVC group of companies. AVC Media specialises in brand asset management for clients seeking innovative ways of expanding their customer reach by managing client’s valuable content and intellectual property through its own innovation and seamless digital technology solutions.

Vincent F Eckerman, CEO AVC Media Group, a division of the AVC group of associated companies, comments: “We are delighted that Saximo have joined our portfolio of businesses and are excited how they bring an expertise into our Media Group that to date has been outsourced. We look forward to supporting a dynamic and exciting team in meeting their aspiration to be seen as the agency which thinks big and delivers excellent value.”
