£200k investment creates jobs in Derry, Northern Ireland / Culture Tech Festival

Wurkhouse, which is based in the Science Park at Derry, Northern Ireland helps businesses design and implement integrated social and online marketing strategies.

Troy Armour, Wurkhouse Managing Director said: “My objective in setting up Wurkhouse is to offer digital marketing solutions tailored to the specific needs of individual customers.

“The portfolio of expert services that we offer is flexible, highly professional and competitive. We offer a comprehensive range of social media technologies including digital marketing and brand development.

“We’ve already won significant contracts, initially in the North West and other parts of Northern Ireland, from a broad cross-section of businesses. These have encouraged us to expand our operations and to explore opportunities that we’ve spotted in the Republic of Ireland.”

He added: “Invest NI’s assistance for the development of the business, especially in terms of marketing, is immensely important and has encouraged us to bring forward our growth plans faster than would have been possible had the financial support not been readily available.”

The company received assistance from Invest NI of £25,000 to help in develop its services.

Des Gartland, Invest NI’s North West Regional Office Manager, commented: “Wurkhouse is a recently established technology business operating in the very dynamic area of social media and specialising in marketing and branding services for other companies.

“It has developed significant business since its launch in April and now requires additional staff with experience in and knowledge of sophisticated digital technologies to enable it to exploit opportunities that it has identified, particularly in the Republic of Ireland.

“Our support will enable the company to recruit the staff it requires and to achieve its objective of growing exports to 30% of turnover over the next three years.”
