Naughty TV adverts and the rise of the second screen drive up revenues at the flash sales site

SecretSales.com, the UK’s largest flash sales business, has reported revenues of £18.2m for 2013, up 68pc on the previous year. Sales have been driven by mobile shopping, with 50pc of orders taking place on smartphones or tablets. Watch the video.

TV advertising is a major customer acquisition tool for SecretSales. “We see an instant boost of up to 300pc every time an advert is shown,” says CEO Nish Kukadia, who founded the business with brother Sach in 2007.“Dual screening is incredibly powerful for our business. A customer can watch an ad and register for the site on their second screen within seconds.”

SecretSales signed up 844,000 members last year and has 3.4m registered users.
