International Rugby Board chief executive Brett Gosper has said he’d be open to the idea of holding Six Nations matches in the United States.
Gosper believes taking the game across the Atlantic would be a huge boost to rugby’s global appeal and help further develop the game in America.
Gosper’s comments come just hours before world champions New Zealand face the United States in Chicago #USAvAllBlacks on Saturday.
A capacity crowd of more than 60,000 is expected to watch the encounter – the first time the All Blacks have visited the country since 1980. The game will be broadcast live at peak time in the States.

Gosper has been hugely impressed with how the visit of the All Blacks – the number one team in world rugby – has raised interest in Chicago.
And he believes the success of Saturday’s game could lead to further high profile matches being held in the country. It is, he argues, a “dream” to host a Six Nations match in America.
