For many businesses social media drives significant sales especially restaurants where simply tweeting you have a table available can see replies requesting said table, for many others it’s not quite so simple, but we all surely would like to know where we are with social media in relation to our competitor’s and peer’s.
So what better industry to pioneer benchmarking of what, how and to what effect social media is being used than hospitality and catering, And of course it’s H&C News at the forefront of this with a team of influential sponsors representing different sectors of the industry behind them. The survey collecting the data can be seen here.
A social media RoundTable event is being held in London next month to discuss the results of a survey collecting data on social media usage and draw up a report that will enable businesses across hospitality and catering to look at what they are doing in comparison to their peers.
We have spoken with the organisers and will be bringing those results to our reader’s at the same time they are released to their own, so a big thank you to H&C News and well done to citizenM – Armourcoat – newmedia2.0 – C&C Catering Equipment. Details of the RoundTable are below.
The survey collecting the data can be seen here.
H&C News’ first RoundTable was attended by delegates from pub groups, hotels, restaurants and coffee shops, and demonstrated that hospitality businesses are meeting some of the challenges of using social media.
Our next event is setting out to benchmark how extensively social media is being used, through what channels, which ones work best for specific hospitality and catering business sectors, and how ROI is measured.
A survey is currently generating results from across our industry where social media users are sharing their experiences. The results from the survey will help set the agenda for delegates and sponsors attending the next RoundTable in February to discuss and compare with their own experiences.
Following the RoundTable, we will be publishing the results of both the survey and the discussions held at the RoundTable. These will help all who are currently using social media to benchmark where they are against their peers, and will provide a window to what effective use of social media can deliver.
The RoundTable will host just 18 delegate attendees enabling everyone there to engage with the discussions fully. This is an ‘invitation only’ event – if you would like to be considered, please take the survey and indicate that you would like to be invited. As numbers are limited, not everyone can attend – but there will be more opportunities to attend RoundTables later in 2015.
Everyone who completes the survey will also receive the report on its findings and from the RoundTable before we publish those findings to the wider market.
We would like to thank our sponsor partners for their support in making the RoundTable events possible, and for their input to this ongoing project throughout 2015.
