Hardys, one of the world’s most powerful wine brands[1], has cemented its position as cricket’s premier wine brand by teaming up with England cricketer, Stuart Broad.

The partnership was launched yesterday, Tuesday 3rd March 2015, at the Hardys Tintara vineyard in the McLaren Vale of South Australia where Stuart Broad was taking part in filming the new Hardys idents. These idents will be aired this summer as part of the Hardys’ sponsorship of Sky Sports’ cricket coverage, which complements @HardysWineUK Hardys’ support of the England cricket team as an official partner.

As well as featuring in the Sky idents, Broad will help support an on-pack promotion which will see Hardys giving away England Cricket and Ashes tickets every 24 hours throughout the summer, and he will make a number of appearances at Hardys-owned cricket events.

Whilst at the Hardys winery Broad also took time to select the William Hardy Langhorne Creek Shiraz 2014 as the wine which will support his charity, the Broad Appeal, via sales from the Hardys in-ground bar, which will be at each England international this summer.

Hardys ambassador, Stuart Broad, said: “Wine is a great passion of mine and there are few better feelings than celebrating a win by enjoying a glass of red. Hardys supported the Broad Appeal in 2014 and having seen how they launched their England partnership last summer I’m delighted to come on board as an Ambassador in this, an Ashes year.

Whilst at the Hardys winery I really enjoyed selecting William Hardy Langhorne Creek Shiraz 2014 as the wine which will support the Broad Appeal this summer and I’m confident the England team will create many more excuses to celebrate with a glass of Hardys in 2015.”

General Manager of Accolade Wines UK, Paul Schaafsma, said: “Stuart Broad’s reputation, love of wine and popularity make him an ideal fit as a Hardys ambassador to support our cricket campaign in 2015. As an Australian brand that sponsors the England cricket team, this summer really is an exciting time for us. Stuart will be an integral part of bringing our cricket plans to life and we’re very pleased to have him on board. We’re also very proud to once again, be supporting the Broad appeal through sales of one of our flagship Hardys wines, William Hardy.”
