Here’s a Movers and Groovers’ story on a senior executive from the agency world moving to a programmatic company, which is symbolic of two things:
(1) the increasing need for the ad tech industry to ‘speak the language’ of agencies and brands and
(2) the increasing importance and attractiveness of ad tech co’s in the ad industry.
RadiumOne hires Chief Data Officer from ZenithOptimedia for EMEA role
Appointment of senior agency executive highlights ad tech platforms’ increasing need to communicate with agencies and brands about harnessing ad and data technology
Programmatic media specialists RadiumOne have appointed ZenithOptimedia France’s Chief Data Officer, Julien Braun, as Senior Director of Data & Platform, EMEA.
Braun will be responsible for developing RadiumOne’s product and data team as it continues to expand through Europe. He will also provide guidance to new and existing customers as more of RadiumOne’s Activate Platform capabilities are brought to market. He will sit on the European executive board and report to the European MD, Rupert Staines.
“The marketing technology industry needs to be better at communicating to agencies how these technologies can help them execute campaigns more successfully for their clients,” explains Staines. “To attract someone of Julien’s talent and experience from one of the world’s largest agency groups is a clear indication of our burgeoning reputation. His switch is also affirmation of the increasing importance and relevance of data in the programmatic marketplace.”
Media agency of the year
At ZenithOptimedia, Braun was responsible for developing client data and media trading strategies. With Braun in the leadership team, they were nominated for media agency of the year in successive years. Braun also served for two years as chief of staff for Maurice Lévy, CEO of Publicis Groupe – Zenith’s parent company.
Braun says: “It’s obvious the increasing role marketing technology platforms play in today’s advertising ecosystem so it’s extremely exciting to join a major differentiator like RadiumOne – notably helping brands unlock the value of what content is being shared online. I see my role as translating the intricacies of data and technology into the language that agencies and brands understand and speak.”
As well as successfully developing digital activities for the Publicis Groupe over the last 15 years, Braun also created social media video platform “BlogBang” and serves as a director, advisor and investor in four European marketing technology start-ups across data management, creative optimisation and video advertising.
