SSP, the food and beverage operator, reports a good third quarter, with like-for-like sales running 3.2pc ahead in the three months to June 30, boosted by strong growth across all regions, apart from Continental Europe.

Galliford Try, the housebuilder and construction group, is to build a £46m Conservatoire in central Birmingham for Birmingham City University.

Charles Taylor announces that Damian Ely, an executive director, will be appointed chief executive on January 1, 2016.

IG Group, the financial spread betting firm, says sales in the year to May 31 were up 5pc, while underlying pre-tax profits dipped 1pc to £193.2m. Chief executive Tim Howkins is to step down in October to retire.

Koovs, the Indian online fashion retailer, has appointed a new chief executive in Mary Turner, while reporting that sales in the first quarter of the new financial year remained strong.
