If you have ever received a parking ticket you will know just how annoying it is to arrive back at your car to find the fine slapped across your windscreen, but have you ever thought about going down the appeals route and fighting the fine?
The answer is probably no, as currently just 0.5 per cent of people make an official appeal to the independent adjudicators, the Traffic Penalty Tribunal, when they have been fined in a council car park even though 50 per cent of those who do come away with a successful result.
This may be due to the long-winded process of making an appeal but from today the system is getting easier to use with a new free online platform.
