When Amazon outbid Netflix for Jeremy Clarkson’s new show, it was seen as a huge coup – but it turns out Netflix has its own winning ticket.
Netflix has acquired rights to internationally distribute the BBC’s rebooted Top Gear television programme, Buzzfeed reports.
Most interestingly, it’s said that the new show – set to be helmed by Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc – will be available on Netflix outside of the UK. However, it’s not yet clear which specific countries will have access to the new series via Netflix.
“Worldwide I don’t know, as there are pockets of output deals that block all of those things,” said Ted Sarandos, Chief Content Officer at Netflix, speaking to Buzzfeed.
