It is definitely not a good thing when advertising legend Sir John Hegarty describes your spot as “the most stupid thing” the has even seen in his whole life.
That is exactly what happened to a recent Nivea ad, created by German and agency, Jung Von Matt/Elbe- this unfortunate and features a robotic seagull that poops sunscreen on children.
The ad also shows agency employees hiding in sand dunes to identify kids who are not sun – protected with a UV camera – these children then become the targets of the defecating seagull.
The creator of this ad certainly did not think that their spot is a joke, and even think that it may be worth an award – they submitted it for the Cannes Lions earlier this month.
