Having rebranded just over a month ago, integrated agency ilk, which has offices in Leeds, Manchester and London, is celebrating following an award win in the Design and Packaging Category at the International Beer Challenge Awards.
Scooping the accolade for its work with Yorkshire based family-run brewers, Little Valley Brewery, the award win for branding, launching and promoting the brewer’s LVB X beer marks the agency’s first award win as ilk.
LVB X, a limited edition barley wine ale, was produced to celebrate Little Valley Brewery’s 10th anniversary. The packaging design was produced by Senior Designer, Bob Lynch, and Copywriter, Cameron Taylor, and looks to take inspiration from the traditional, time-honored brewing techniques of barley wine ale through both the product name and the design.
On the concept behind the creative, Senior Designer Bob Lynch, commented: “We wanted to ensure a premium look and feel was provided by the black and gold colour scheme, providing an intricate yet striking field of vision. At every opportunity we sought to give the bottle packaging a new level of detail and authenticity; the gold foil seal with Wim’, Master Brewer at Little Valley’s, new-styled signature, the incorporation of Stoodley Pike, and subtle hop and malt icons carefully placed around the descriptive copy working to create this. We feel this, in conjunction with the supporting copy which drew on the fine ingredients of the beer, really helped to deliver a premium packaging.”
Shaun Beaumont, Creative Director at ilk, added: “It is always great for our work to be recognised, especially when it is a project we have been involved in from the very start and that sees us applying our integrated skillset.
Our team came up with the concept and then saw it through the branding and design process, as well as launching it and handling all PR and social for the beer, which was very successful. Awards like this are testament to the hard work and dedication from our creative team – here’s to many more in the future.”
