Marks and Spencer has been slammed by some members of the LGBT community for releasing a “gay sandwich” packaged inside a rainbow-coloured box.
The supermarket released a twist on the classic BLT snack, adding in guacamole to help spell out the acronym LGBT – Lettuce, Guacomole, Bacon and TomatoPriced at £3, the “special limited-edition” LGBTQ+ sarnie has been launched to celebrate Pride 2019.
But some members of the LGBT community were left raging after seeing it in stores.
Shopper Aaron Wright tweeted a picture of the sandwich, which comes in rainbow-coloured packaging, with a caption saying “f*** off”.
In the tweet, Mr Wright, an artistic director, wrote: “Calling all LGBTs!
“Get yourselves down @marksandspencer and help yourself to a free gay sandwich!
