Electric cars : I can’t drive .. another BBC blunder

Scene : The BBC’s Daily Political Show Friday 21st June 2019.

Has the BBC political programmes producers got another one wrong?

They were talking about electric cars. Big chunk of the programme given over to it. Out of the four panelist who were asked did they have a car – three said no, and two did not even drive.

Hence a very confused host who opened up with the question – Who here has a car?

You would think they would match their topics to the ‘experts’ who are asked to give their opinion on the future of electric cars.

Another problem – a ‘clumsy’ caption one: Why do drivers think of electric cars should read – WHAT do drivers think of electric cars?

………………………………………..

What do drivers think of electric cars?

The government says it wants to end the sale of new petrol and diesel cars by 2040, but with only one in four drivers saying they would buy electric, the move to less polluting cars is not gathering speed.

In Milton Keynes, a government sponsored electric car showroom is attempting to change all that, and the city offers free parking and plenty of charging points to boost confidence.

Robin Markwell paid a visit to the showroom for Politics Live.
