These recipes will get you drinking more, hydrating yourself throughout the day. Check out these infused water recipes that make use of fresh fruits, seasonal ingredients, and flavour-boosting herbs. Water will never be boring again!

Why Drink Flavoured Water

Flavoured water is great for hydrating yourself without the sugars and artificial flavourings of sodas and juices. Infused water is made with fresh herbs, fruits, and vegetables which provide a subtle hint of flavour, while infusing your water with the necessary nutrients you need.

Hydration is essential for all life, and as we work 8+ hours a day, we often tend to forget to drink every now and then. There are also some people, especially children, who dislike the neutral flavour of water. Infusing water with fresh fruit, vegetables, and herbs helps provide a tantalising flavour that will get you drinking water without hesitation!

5 Infused Water Recipes

  1. Minty Mornings

Invigorate your mornings with a cool blast of minty refreshment! This minty, slightly sweet drink will get you forgoing your morning coffee, and energise with some fruity flavours instead. Infuse overnight for an on-the-go drink to hydrate quickly in the mornings.

Steep 5-6 stems of freshly-picked mint (spearmint works best for this recipe), and muddle them before steeping in 500mL to 1 litre of water. Add in a slice of lemon, a slice of ginger, and half a cucumber for flavour, and enjoy your natural energy drink! Add a teaspoon of pure honey for a little extra sweetness and energy.

  1. Vitamin-powered Water

Take a quart pitcher, and fill it up with purified or distilled drinking water to the halfway mark. Add in slices of half a lemon, an orange, a lime, and half a grapefruit. Let the flavours soak for 2-3 hours, then drink throughout the day. Try the recipe using hot water for the perfect cold remedy! Avoid soaking the fruits too long as the rind may give off a bitter taste.

  1. Summer-y Refreshment

When you think of summer, four fruits come into mind: ripe red strawberries, refreshing watermelon, tangy pineapple, and tart lemons! Mix all fruits together for a flavour blast that transports you to the sandy beaches at any season. You don’t need to wait for summer to enjoy the flavours of refreshment!

Cut up strawberries in half, watermelon into cubes, pineapples into chunks, and lemons in thin slices. Let the fruits soak in a pitcher of water, and keep the pitcher in the fridge for a couple of hours up to overnight. Drink up with a tall glass full of ice for a cool, summer-y drink!
