This immerse WebVR game puts players in the shoes of a pair of soldiers trying to escape

Warner Brothers has been in the throes of promoting Christopher Nolan’s “Dunkirk,” which depicts the storied evacuation of Allied soldiers from the eponymous region in the North of France during World War II.

The marketing includes an insanely long trailer that fooled moviegoers into thinking they were in the wrong theater, as well as this immerse WebVR game that puts players in the shoes of a pair of soldiers trying to escape.

The co-play experience requires participation between two players — you can ask a friend to join, or team up with a random player from around the world. The players step into the shoes of two Allied troopers trapped on the beach in enemy territory. At each turn, they must work together to save the other, reflecting the camaraderie and cooperation that drive the storyline of the film.

Warner Brothers worked with Google Zoo, the Google Chrome VR team and digital experience studio Jam3 to create the multi-player game, playable in the Chrome web browser, on mobile or with WebVR-supporting headsets including Cardboard and Daydream.
