Paddy Power adds two senior hires to its marketing team

Paddy Power is delighted to announce two senior appointments to its marketing team as it continues to develop and strengthen its global marketing capability. Danny Russell joins as Insight Director and Robin Auld joins as Brand Director. Both will start with the company on 15 October 2012 and will report to Paddy Power’s Marketing Director, Christian Woolfenden.

Danny was previously Marketing Strategy Director for BSkyB where he was responsible for all market, consumer and content research, as well as competitor intelligence, customer engagement, insight, and segment strategy. Prior to that he was Planning Manager for British Airways, having also held marketing research roles for Boots Healthcare International and Kraft Jacob Suchard.

Robin has spent the past two years working on a consultancy basis, acting as the Sales and Marketing Director for Domino’s Germany whilst also serving as a non-executive director for Deliverance Ltd and Franchise Brands Worldwide. He was previously the Sales and Marketing Director for Domino’s UK, and has also worked in a variety of marketing positions for HeadlightVision Ltd, Carlsberg-Tetley UK, Whitworths Ltd, and Walkers Smiths Snack Foods Ltd.

Commenting on the hires, Christian Woolfenden, Paddy Power’s Marketing Director, said: “Danny and Robin are hugely experienced, innovative and creative individuals with outstanding track records in a variety of different companies, brands and sectors. These are exciting times for the Paddy Power brand as we enter new markets and continue to develop in our existing markets. We now have an exceptional and expanding team that is capable of building on the unique, entertaining and extremely effective campaigns that we have become known for.”

The appointments follow on from the arrivals at Paddy Power last month of Mark Singleton, who joined as Head of Sportsbook Marketing from Procter & Gamble, and Claire Davies, who joined as Head of PR and Media Relations having previously worked for Hill & Knowlton.
