6 subtle ways you can brand your office space

Branding should work across all your online and offline marketing channels, and one place where you can make your branding visible is in your office.

You don’t have to go all out, just a few subtle nods to your branding can ensure it’s in line with your company’s vision.

Here are some ideas for small changes you can make to your office.

  1. Invest in a good sign

When people enter your office, they should immediately know they’re in the right place, so make sure you have a welcoming reception area with a prominent sign that’s in line with your company’s logo. If you have a company slogan that’s not too long, this could be displayed under the sign, as long as it’s not too distracting.

It’s also good to incorporate some hints about what your company does into the design. Whether it’s a gallery of your creative projects, some samples of your products or some industry magazines, this will set the tone for your workplace.

  1. Ensure your office reflects your organisation’s culture

Walk into an office and you’ll often get a good idea of what the organisation is like.

If you see a football table and beanbag chairs, you’ll get the sense that it’s a relaxed, creative environment, while a big boardroom and individual offices shows a more serious, corporate culture. To stay on brand, think about the traits your company wants to promote, then work from there.

  1. Add personalised items

A few small personalised items can make a big difference to the style of your office and ensure it’s on brand.

Adding some logo mats at the entrance and at different points in your office adds some subtle branding, and you should consider getting personalised stationery to add branding to people’s desk spaces.

  1. Paint in the company’s colours

Don’t feel that you have to stick to beige walls.

Pick a prominent colour that’s associated with your brand and paint the walls, or just a single feature wall, in this colour. This nicely ties the décor of the office together.

  1. Use corporate artwork, carefully

Bare walls are pretty uninspiring, so it makes sense to consider some artwork for your walls.

Artwork has been shown to boost productivity and improve morale but be careful to choose art that’s on brand without being too over the top.

For example, some professionally taken photographs related to your work will look great, while cheesy stock photos will make the space look generic. If it’s a creative workplace, then some simple modern artworks could work well, while more traditional businesses might want to stick to classic pieces.

  1. Name your rooms

If your office is made up of lots of different spaces and meeting rooms, give them names based around your products or services. This is much more fun than taking clients to meeting room A or B and can even start a conversation.

Branding doesn’t have to be confined to your website or letterheads. There are ways you can introduce your brand’s ideals to your office, which helps people see your company’s purpose and mission.
