“How do I acquire more customers? How do I convert more customers? How do I sell more?” / Special Marketingblog interview with James Critchley, CEO of cloud.IQ

cloud.IQ, one of the UK’s hottest TechCity start ups recently launched its first set of digital marketing apps that aim to open up the integrated marketing world by giving all organisations access to the “big boys marketing toys”.

The new applications are the first of a series to be launched over the next few months and are focused on helping organisations convert more website visitors into sales by quickly adding a call-back service, deploying a cart recovery process and optimising their mobile websites.

TheMarketingblog were interested in getting more information about these digital marketing apps.   We organised one of our special Marketingblog 5 questions interview with James Critchley, CEO of cloud.IQ. We are very pleased with the result – it is well worth a read.

How many apps have you got up and running now? What will be the final number of apps?

In July, we launched our first set of digital marketing apps. callMe, cartRecovery and MobileMe. The apps are available on our site and businesses can trial them for a month for free.

The conversion focused apps will be supported by future app launches planned for Q4 2012 and 2013. Businesses will be able to select the apps that best suit their business needs and create a sophisticated integrated digital marketing platform from as little as little as £20 a month.

Which is your favourite app?

That’s very difficult  because they’re all great,  but if I had to choose then probably the callMe app. It’s so simple as a concept but it’s amazing the difference it makes to sales when added to  a company’s website.

Comment on the advantages of being able to draw on your past experience with your 12,500 customers.

Over the past 12 years or more, I have had the opportunity to work with and speak to hundreds of marketing directors and understand the real issues they are facing. Although every organisation is different – selling different products and services in different ways what I have found is that most marketing directors I talk to usually face almost the same root issues – how do I acquire more customers? How do I convert more customers? How do I sell more? And of course, more recently, what’s the right channel for my customer at a particular point in the sales cycle?

These core insights resulted in us bringing to market apps that are focused on addressing these issues. What’s more, businesses of all sizes can benefit from the integrated, cloud based marketing apps as we want to give all businesses access to the “big boys marketing toys”.

At my previous company, Ad.IQ, we powered campaigns for global brands such as Experian and Vauxhall and I have witnessed first hand the value and impact that effective multi-channel strategies can have on a business. Both myself and my business partner Paul believe that all businesses should benefits from the advancements in technology not just enterprises and why we have launched cloud.IQ.

Who do you want to reach?

We believe all businesses can benefit from our suite of marketing app as all businesses can improve the way they acquire, engage and convert new customers.

Our client roster includes companies in retail, telecoms, insurance and the travel sector. We are also working with a number of charities and public sector organisations.

Comment on your statement  ‘You want people to use the platform and give you their comments’.

Yes, the immediate focus at the moment is getting as many organisations as possible using our apps. We want to know from customers how they are using the applications, the impact the apps are having on conversion rates and also feedback on how we could improve the apps.
