INITIALS Marketing is bolstering its digital and experiential teams with four new hires.
Sam Brownfield joins INITIALS as its first director of digital bringing with him 24 years agency and client-side experience in I.T, digital, marketing and advertising disciplines.
Brownfield’s remit includes maximising INITIALS’ potential for Shopper, Marketing and Experiential communication in the modern digital world.
He arrives at INITIALS from Tradewind Ltd, the independent digital consultancy he set up in 2006. As managing director, he advised some of the world’s biggest brands, including Heineken, Britvic, EDF Energy and Marks & Spencer, on all things digital. Prior to this, Brownfield was managing partner at marketing agency Liquorice for seven years, where he set up and ran its digital offering.
Also joining the agency is Tamsin Kon. Kon, who joins INITIALS as senior communications manager working across the UKTV and SAB Miller accounts to manage experiential and stunt-based activation around brand campaigns.
Prior to INITIALS, Kon worked at Australian agency Evocatif Pty Ltd, where she worked on its Kellogg’s, Nestlé and Kimberley Clark accounts.
Ellen Phillips comes to INITIALS as senior communications executive to support the experiential team on Samsung, Miller Genuine Draft and Cadbury. She arrives from Sense Marketing Services where she worked on a freelance basis for the Sainsbury’s Jubilee Family Festival at Hyde Park. Prior to this she worked at Arc UK / Leo Burnett, in its experiential team on its Kraft Foods and Tesco accounts.
Eliza Johnston joins the marketing team as communications executive to work on its Sainsbury’s account. Eliza is the first recruit to join INITIALS via its graduate work experience scheme ‘Class of INITIALS 2012’, which launched in April this year.
Kon, and Phillips will report in to Chris Wareham, director and head of INITIALS experience.
Wareham commented: “INITIALS is structured around four interconnecting centres of excellence: experience, shopper, digital, and marketing. Sam’s appointment is a key step for us to help grow INITIALS’ integrated offering via his digital credentials.
“The additions of Tamsin, Ellen and Eliza reflect our strong agency growth during the past year, and more importantly, signal our commitment to investing in our future through the development of quality talent.”
