Virgin Media has today announced plans to create 230 new jobs at its contact centre in Swansea.
The communications company said the expansion is needed to help meet consumer demand for next generation television and superfast broadband.
The new roles will be based at the Virgin Media site at Matrix Court in Swansea Enterprise Park which opened in July last year. The site is already home to around 900 customer service and technical support employees. The move forms part of plans to create 400 new jobs across the UK.
Business Secretary Vince Cable MP welcomed the news. “This expansion is good news for Virgin Media and for the hundreds of people who will benefit from these new jobs, which include many highly-skilled engineering roles,” he said.
